Run Facebook and Instagram ads from your phone

Three ways to run Meta ads from a phone: the Boost button, Meta's Ads Manager app, or SocialMetis, an app that plans the ad for you. What each does and costs.

Short answer

You can run Meta ads from a phone in three ways. The Boost button in the Facebook or Instagram app is the quickest but has few options. Meta's Ads Manager app has every setting, but you have to make every decision. SocialMetis studies your business, drafts the whole ad (goal, audience, budget, text and pictures) and publishes it to your own ad account once you approve.

Boost is fine for getting more eyes on a post. It is a weaker choice when you want calls, enquiries or sales, because it gives Meta fewer instructions. See Boost post vs Facebook ads.

What SocialMetis does on your phone

  1. Studies your business first: what you sell, who buys it, the words customers search for, and what similar businesses advertise.
  2. Sets the goal: calls, enquiries, shop visits or sales, so the ad is built for the result you want.
  3. Suggests who should see it: the people, the area around your business, and a daily budget.
  4. Writes and designs the ad: the headline, the text and the pictures, sized for the feed, Stories and Reels.
  5. Makes 2 to 6 versions so Meta can show more of the one people respond to.
  6. Waits for your yes, then publishes to your own Facebook Page, Instagram account and ad account.
  7. Checks results every day and suggests a change. Nothing changes until you approve it.
  8. Collects enquiries from ad forms in one list in the app.

What it does not do

  • It runs Facebook and Instagram ads only. Google ads, WhatsApp and an iPhone app are not live yet.
  • It does not reply to your customers for you.
  • It cannot promise results or that Meta will approve an ad. Meta reviews every ad.
  • It is an app you use yourself, not an agency.

What you need before you start

  • A Facebook Page for your business. If you do not have one, here is how to create it.
  • A Meta ad account with a payment method, so Meta can bill the ads.
  • An Android phone. The app is free on Google Play.

Planning is free. Publishing plans are ₹1,699, ₹3,499 or ₹7,999 a month + GST, and the money for the ads is paid to Meta from your own ad account. See pricing.

Questions people ask

Is there an app to run Facebook ads?

Yes. Meta has its own Ads Manager app, and the Facebook and Instagram apps have a Boost button. SocialMetis is a separate app that plans and makes the ad for you, then publishes it to your own Meta ad account after you approve.

Can I run Instagram ads from my phone without a computer?

Yes. Instagram ads are made in Meta's ad system, the same one as Facebook ads, so one ad can run on both. You can create and publish them entirely from a phone with Ads Manager or with SocialMetis.

Does SocialMetis work on iPhone?

Not yet. It is an Android app today. An iPhone app is planned.

Who owns the ads and who pays for them?

You do. The ads run on your own Facebook Page, Instagram account and Meta ad account, and Meta bills the card or payment method saved in that ad account. SocialMetis never takes the ad money and adds no fee on top of it.
