Short answer
Start from what one result costs you (a lead, a call or a sale). Meta's rule of thumb is that an ad set needs about 50 results in 7 days to leave its learning period, so a daily budget of roughly cost per result × 50 ÷ 7 per ad set lets it learn properly. If that is more than you can spend, run one ad set, aim for a cheaper result such as enquiries, or accept slower learning.

₹ 32,571
Formula: cost per result × results in 7 days ÷ 7 × ad sets. The 50 results in 7 days default is Meta's rule of thumb for an ad set to leave its learning period. Taxes Meta charges in your country are extra.
Why the budget depends on the learning period
When an ad set starts, Meta tries it on different people to learn who responds. Meta says this learning period usually ends after about 50 results in 7 days. Below that, delivery is less stable and the cost per result is usually higher.
So a budget that buys only a handful of results a week can work, but it stays in learning and results swing from day to day. That is why many small accounts do better with one ad set and a few ad versions than with many small ad sets.
Worked examples
These are illustrations of the formula, not promises of any cost.
| Goal | Cost per result | Daily budget to learn (1 ad set) |
|---|---|---|
| Enquiries from a lead form | ₹100 | about ₹714 a day |
| Calls to a clinic | ₹250 | about ₹1,786 a day |
| Online sales | $15 | about $107 a day |
If the number is more than you can spend
- Run one ad set, not several, so the budget is not split.
- Choose a cheaper result to learn on: enquiries before sales, or calls before store visits.
- Accept slower learning: keep the ad running steadily rather than stopping and starting it, which resets learning.
- Improve the ad itself: a clearer offer and better pictures lower the cost per result more than any setting.
Questions people ask
What is the minimum budget for Meta ads?
Meta's technical minimum is small and depends on your currency and what you pay for. The useful minimum is the budget that gets enough results each week for the ad to learn, which the calculator above estimates.
Should I spend more on Facebook or Instagram?
Usually neither; run one ad on both and let Meta spend where results are cheaper.
Does SocialMetis add a fee to my ad budget?
No. Your ad spend is paid to Meta from your own ad account. SocialMetis charges only its monthly plan when you publish.
